Building up to the Oscars

Tomorrow night is the glamorous night that is The Oscars the biggest night in film industry. This will be our first time our blog can post news about it, so from tomorrow night we are going to attempt to post live as it happens. It might be a little rough at first but we thought this could be a great way for people to keep update with all the winners if you cannot watch it. All you have to do is when I publish my Oscars post is just hit the refresh button on the page and it should update with the next piece of information. We tested this out earlier and it seemed to have worked fine for us. We hope you can join us for this and if not we hope you enjoy the night. Baftas 2013

Tonight is the British equivalent to the Oscars, The Baftas kicks off live on the BBC tonight at 9pm. I shall be tuning in and will be posting up a results post on here tomorrow morning. Please check back here again for that if you cannot get to see the Baftas tonight. It should be a great evening with so many great films up for awards.

Argo now an Oscar favourite

Ben Affleck has won the top film honour from the Directors Guild of America for his CIA thriller Argo, further sealing its status as frontrunner to take best picture at the Academy Awards.

Blog update

Hey fellow film fans, I'm posting this up to let you guys know that due to our internet being down for the past week or so we haven't been able to bring you any new posts to the blog. Yesterday an engineer came and fixed our line and now we are back up and running. I'm currently working on some posts for the blog and shall have them up very soon. Argo named as Best Picture at the Producers Guild Awards

For the past five years the winner of the best film accolade at the PGAs has gone on to win best picture at the Academy Awards. Having already picked up the best director and best dramatic film gongs at the Golden Globes, the success of Ben Affleck's Argo looks set to continue.

2013 Oscar Disappointments

Ben Afleck and Leonardo di Caprio both snubbed as the 2013 Oscar Nominations are revealed. The Academy Awards, due to take place in Los Angeles on February 24, has also failed to recognise the performances of Britain's Dame Judi Dench and Dame Helen Mirren despite being tipped for nominations.

US cinema leads the way in the 2013 Bafta nominations. Indeed, the hotly anticipated film, Lincoln, has 10 nominations including Best Film and Best Actor for Daniel Day-Lewis while Les Miserables flies the flag for Britain with 9 nominations.
